We hold back the sand. We bring back the land.
Every year moving dunes bury homes, wells and farmland in Dhinowda. DDA builds sand fences, plants trees and works with families so the district can live from its land and its sea again.

Who we are
A local agency for a district under sand
Dhinowda Development Agency is a non-profit agency based in Dhinowda District, Mudug Region, Puntland. It was formed by people of the district who watched the dunes move closer every season.
We work with elders, women's groups, fishermen, farmers and young people. Every project starts with a meeting in the village, not a plan written far away.
