Vision
A clear vision, a short mission, and the values we hold to while we work.
A green Dhinowda that holds its own ground
A district where the dunes have stopped moving, the land is green again, and families live well from farming, herding and the sea.
Our missionStop the sand, grow the land, open the sea
We work with the people of Dhinowda to control moving dunes, protect the environment, plant trees, teach care of the land, and help families earn from the land and the ocean.
Dhinowda when the land is green Six things we will not trade away
Community first
The district sets the priorities. We follow them, not the other way round.
Care for creation
Land, water, trees and sea are a trust. We use them without spoiling them.
Honesty with money
Clear records, clear reports, and no spending we cannot explain in public.
Fair share
Help goes by need, not by family, clan or connection.
Work with others
We join hands with government, other agencies and the diaspora instead of working alone.
Proof, not talk
We measure the sand we stop and the trees that live, and we publish the numbers.
What success looks like
These are the goals we test ourselves against every year.
See the full plan-
Goal 1
The dunes stop at the fence line
Homes, wells and the main road are protected on the windward side.
-
Goal 2
A green belt around the town
Trees planted, watered and still alive after two dry seasons.
-
Goal 3
Every village knows the plan
Awareness teams reach schools, mosques and grazing camps.
-
Goal 4
Families earn from the sea
Better gear, cold storage and a fair price at the market.
